Sacramento, CA - California gubernatorial candidate
Arnold Schwarzenegger was dealt another serious blow to his
campaign Thursday when former friend Dickie Greene stepped
forward and made allegations about rampant physical and mental
abuse at the hands of the bodybuilder during the mid-1970's.
"I was laying on the beach trying to talk to this girl
and suddenly this big muscular guy came up to me and stole
my Fresca. When I tried to stop him, he just kicked sand in
my face," Greene said. "It really hurt. I was like
'oww, what did you do that for? You're mean.'"
Greene, who in the 1970's spent much of his free time playing
backgammon on the same "muscle beach" that Schwarzenegger
would frequent, admitted he only weighed 99 pounds at the
time and was intimidated by the reigning Mr. Universe.
"At first, I tried to talk to him nicely and ask him
to be my friend, just like that Buddy Hinton episode of 'The
Brady Bunch.' But when I tried to shake his hand and offer
him half of my egg salad sandwich, he grabbed it and shoved
it down my pants. Then, he began doing the same thing every
day. I had to bring two sandwiches -- one for me to eat and
one for Arnold to shove down my swim trunks."
According to Greene, by the end of the day he was usually
stripped naked and tied to a tree. "That's when he would
offer to introduce me to some of his lady friends -- or the
neighborhood dogs, who really seemed to enjoy eating the egg
salad off my genitals."
Schwarzenegger's bid for governor has been hampered by both
allegations of overt racism by former bodybuilders and sexual
improprieties against women for nearly three decades The movie
star-turned-politician seemed ill-prepared to handle a fresh
set of accusations.
"I do not recall doing any bad things to Dickie Greene,"
Arnold said at a press conference early Friday. "I never
kicked sand in his face or tied him to a tree naked. That
is just dirty politics. The egg salad thing is true though.
It was really funny."
