Los Angeles, CA - Despite dangers to area homes,
California wildlife directors along with members of the
Los Angeles Fire Department initiated a a controlled burn
of actor Keanu Reeves early Friday.
"We realize the inherent risks of prescribed fires,"
L.A. Forestry Spokesman Mickey Brewer said. "But did
you see him on Letterman? The guy is out of control."
Reeves, 39, still promoting his current film Matrix: Revolutions,
had no comment on the matter but publicist Sandy Brodsky assured
reporters that Keanu did indeed agree to the controlled burn
as long as it would help other successful Hollywood celebrities
in the future.
"I would like to stress that the controlled burn of
Keanu was strictly voluntary and occurred with his full blessing,"
Brodsky said. "Now, as a result, we are much safer today
and may have prevented further harm to our community. Like
a fourth Matrix movie."
While wildfires continued to burn in Southern California
Friday, the controlled burn of Keanu Reeves was said to have
only caused minor damage to a few acres and Keanu's new "Beatles-style"
Armani jacket.
According to sources, controlled burns of hyper-serious actors
is quite common and has been met with great success in the
past, notably with Sylvester Stallone after the release of
Rocky IV and then again after the release of Judge
Dredd. It also been used as a deterrent to former Roseanne
hubby Tom Arnold, whose opts for a self-imposed controlled
burn every six months.
Newly-elected governor Arnold Sclwarzenegger denies reports
that he is next on the list.
