Cambridge, MA - Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Freshmen Ravi Gupta and Doug Kramer spent half the summer
designing and building the world's first "truly female
robot" out of old lawnmower parts, and spent the rest
the summer trying to reattach their severed penises.
"It was challenging of course," Gupta said as he
recovered from his third corrective surgery at the nearby
Harvard Medical Center. "Creating a female robot was
difficult enough , but then having to build a special penis
reattaching machine was a monumental task in itself, especially
under the circumstances."
Kramer and Gupta, however, insist they probably would have
come up with the miracle medical breakthrough even if they
hadn't mistakenly chopped off their penises.
"I know it appears as if we invented the penis reattachment
device because of a design flaw in the female robot, which
caused our penises to become stuck in her gears and then immediately
hacked off by a rusty mower blade," Kramer said. "But
I actually came up with the idea years ago. This just sort
of sped it up."
The robot, named "Amy" after a cheerleader Gupta
is tutoring and Kramer is considering asking out, was in no
way built to replace the real Amy, or any living breathing
female, according to the students.
"We realize now that no amount of machinery can replace
the intricacies of the real-life human vagina," Gupta
admitted. "But since we have no idea what a vagina looks
like, it was all sort of guess work, I suppose."
