Los Angeles, CA - James Caviezel, the all but unknown actor
who received the role of a lifetime, portraying Jesus Christ
in Mel Gibson's controversial new film "Passions of the
Christ," is now sifting through dozens of offers for
new roles, including that of Jesus Christ (again), Charles
Manson and a role as "a slightly younger Jesus."
"My next two roles will also be that of Jesus Christ,"
Caviezel said with all the excitement of a former busboy turned
megastar overnight. "But then after that I will be portraying
Charles Manson, where I will bring the same energy, enthusiasm
and understated performance as I brought to Jesus."
Caviezel is not worried that he's only been offered roles
as either the King of the Jews or as the head of the Manson
Family. Both he says are important charismatic leaders with
different styles but similar grooming habits.
"I'm obviously not going to play Charlie Manson the
same way as I played Jesus," Caviezel said. "For
starters, Charlie Manson speaks English and not Aramaic. Plus,
he's shorter."
Caviezel's publicist Jim Arial insists that the role of Charles
Manson was awarded to his client on the basis of his acting
talent alone, and not to fight off the kind of typecasting
that often occurs when actors take on larger than life roles.
"After his third stint as Jesus and after the Manson
sequel and prequel, he will take a break and join the cast
of ABC's next installment of "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me
Out of Here," Arial said. "This will allow James
to show off his diplomatic skills as well as his toned body
and washboard abs."
"It will be a nice way to finally bond with my celebrity
peers, while at the same time showing the American public
the other side of me," Caviezel said. "Then it's
back to playing Jesus, Moses, Jesus, Manson and then Jesus
again. I love Hollywood!"
