Haley Joel Osment was presented with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award Sunday at the 74th Academy Awards. Osment debuted on the silver screen in “Forrest Gump” way back in 1994, when gas prices were still under a dollar-thirty and the Kodak Theater, home of the Oscars, was only in its architectural phase.

Osment was presented with the award by last year’s recipient, Liv Tyler, who reminded the crowd that the recipient's prolific career has spanned not just two decades, but two millenniums as well.

“Maybe it’s the non-alcoholic champagne from the green room talking here,” Osment told the crowd, “But today is the happiest day of my life. To be honored like this by your peers is better than what I imagine sex to be like.”

The crowd chuckled affectionately as Osment complained about "cooties" and wiped the lipstick of Liv Tyler’s kiss off his cheek.

Charlton Heston, yet to be honored with the award, looked on angrily, before being asked to give up his seat to Cuba Gooding, Jr. "Get your paws off me you damn dirty apes!" Heston screamed to the frightened ushers.

Osment’s memorable list of roles have ranged from his portrayal of a little boy in “Forrest Gump” to a little boy who sees dead people in “Sixth Sense” to a robotic little boy in “A.I.” But he reminded the crowd that he’s not done yet. His plans include tackling some adolescent roles in the near future and possibly focusing on more adult characters further down the line.
