VACAVILLE, CA - Infamous cult leader and convicted
killer Charles Manson admitted for the first time publicly
that he could really use a hug.
Manson, sentenced life in prison shortly after the 1969 Tate-LaBianca
murders, has spent the last 34 years being angry and antagonistic
towards prison guards and other inmates, not to mention reporters
and members of the parole board.
"I sometimes come off as overly tough and maybe even
a little bit homicidal," Manson says frenetically after
his third cup of coffee."But I assure you, it's all an
act. Inside I'm trembling and as frightened as a little girl."
Manson acknowledges he has not given or received a hug in
more than three decades and says that he's now ready to accept
others in his heart. He wants others to know this so they
can eventually feel comfortable exchanging warm, physical
embraces, without fear of being stabbed with a makeshift steel
shank, like in years past.
"I am not saying this to try to get paroled. I am ready
and willing to hug the District Attorney as well as the Parole
board no matter what they decide. Just give me some love.
Charlie needs a hug bad."
Manson's new bootleg recording, "Charlie Sings the Blues"
will be released in August.
