Jeanie Sislack, accounts receivable manager for Septicorp
Industries and part-time hand model, feels she is leading
the pack in the long-sought Palmolive account after
really nailing her hand model audition last Friday.
Sislack recalls the audition as, the best hand model
audition experience of my career. [Director] John Appleway,
has always been the pinnacle of glamour, and I really think
he was blown away with my poise, my character interpretation
and the metamorphosis of the character I was portraying.
Sislack first learned of the audition after receiving an
inside tip from fellow Septicorp employee, and one-time hand
model pin-up, Rashid Fellows. Fellows, a junior sales rep,
has been encouraging Sislack to follow her dreams and has
volunteered to train her for upcoming auditions.
Sislack saw the opportunity and took a two week sabbatical
to prepare for the most challenging test in her life. In addition
to a series of strenuous exercises and pumice treatments,
Sislack explored her character in a series of scene workshops
with other hand models. Some people try to infuse too
much formal character in their approach, but I
employ a Method technique asking, What would my hands
do in this situation?
At the Hand Model Institute, where Sislack is a first year
student, she is a member of the Cats Cradle secret
society and co-captain of the highly ranked HMI Shadow Puppets.
Dean Mendel-Chavez explained that a focused talent like Sislack
will likely take the world by storm. Did you see the
pinkie? Jesus, the pinkie alone, man. Now that's technique!
Appleway had no comment on Sislack, but a Spokesman for McCann
Erickson, the agency representing the Palmolive account
said on a condition of anonymity, Every so once in a
while, a hand comes along and jerks you in the right direction.
That hand could be Sislack... or it might not be, I dont
know. Who cares.
