Flushing, NY Tennis star Anna Kournikova was
all smiles despite making 40 unforced errors in an embarrassing
first round loss at the U.S. Open last week.
Kournikova, 21, plans to train even harder for next year's
tourney, now that she has the support of her boyfriend, Latin
pop sensation, Enrique Iglesias as well as new tennis coach,
Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, who has promised her unfettered
access to the VIP grotto at Flynt's Malibu bathhouse where
she will begin a rigorous training program.
"Don't you worry about Anna," declared Flynt
during a press conference after Kournikova lost 6-3, 6-0 to
unknown Indonesian teen-ager Angelique Widjaja. "Enrique
and I are planning to really work her really, really hard.
Isn't that right, amigo?"
"Si si," exclaimed Iglesias as he dropped down
to his needs for an impromptu Spanish prayer. "Yo la
enseñaré a cómo mejorar su golpe y entonces
yo la cabalgaré como un toro enojado!"
Perhaps more famous for her good looks than her tennis skills,
critics have blasted the bombshell recently for spending more
time straddling her racquet for photographers than actually
preparing for big tournaments.
"Just wait until next season," Kournikova said
as she politely autographed her game panties for an eager
fan. "I'm going to be in the best shape of my life thanks
to Larry and most of all, Enrique."
Iglesias nodded his head in quick approval, "Gracias
Jesús. Gracias Mary. Yo no soy digno!"
