DAY 5 October 30, 2002 Day 5: Court Drawings!

by Billy "T-Bone" Tsangares

Today is a very special day. It's Winona Ryder's 31st birthday. I thought to myself how wrong it was for her to be stuck in a courtroom on the anniversary of the glorious day when Winona Ryder neé Horowitz emerged from her mother's womb. I thought about getting her a birthday present but I figured I would get the "beat down" by security guards(again), so I just baked her a cake and ate it by myself in the parking lot.

I did manage to make it on time to the trial. Winona was already moving through the metal detector as the camera crews gathered around a monitor outside. They were watching her on the inside of the building streaming the video out to the outside world. She walked slowly, patiently as she had the other four days. Upstairs I took my seat in between an investigator for the DA and the attorneys that flew in from New York from Sacks. I offered the woman attorney from Sacks a banner that I printed that read, "I Believe You Winona". She thanked me and asked if I could sign it later, outside of the courtroom. "Sure", I said. (just one of the many perks when you spend your life in front of a silk screen press)

Today Winona wore a beautiful black dress with a medium neckline and pink lapels or trim. It was a beautiful (nonstolen) birthday outfit. Unfortunately, I had missed her walking in and had passed last night on drawing her coming out. Was I slacking off? Was I not doing my job of trying to record every single minute that she lives and breathes under the watchful eye of the world? Would I disappoint the editors of BFA? Would my wife leave me? I sure hope not.

Since she is sitting I am not sure about the length of the dress but I can only imagine the silky smoothness of her partially-exposed calves.

The prosecutor and the defense spent a long time reviewing video tapes provided by Sacks security, which as I indicated earlier are referred to as "Asset Protection Services". That's the same thing I call my atheletic supporter! Anway, the lawyers are spending a whole lot of time trying to verify that the tapes are the same as the original tapes provided to the defense.

I'm starting to nod off now, so I'll just stick to the courtroom drawings if you don't mind.
